Mulching

The first week is over at the ongoing international seed balls festival on the island of Sicily.

Free natural farming seminars and inseminations for afforestation with the participation of people of all ages continue in different parts of the island.

I would like to briefly touch upon an issue that has been asked many times and has been puzzling over the past week.

Mulching does not improve the soil, it prevents it from getting worse. If you mulch the desert, it will still be desert there.

Preventing the growth of weeds by making a 20-30cm layer of mulch does not improve the soil and may even have an adverse effect.

Mulch is important; however, mulch that obstructs nature’s work can be dangerous.

It is useful to drink water; But if you drink 10 liters of water a day, you can be poisoned and die.

Natural farming is not something that has rules, can be taught, or understood. It is like a flowing river. Every memory and corner is different from each other. Just observe and continue to sow seed balls. Nothing else will be needed.
