November Seedings

November seedings, their outcomes and the concrete steps for the future.

This month we made simultaneous seeding at İzmir, Bodrum, Tunceli, İstanbul, Samsun, Sakarya, Ordu, Antalya, Ankara, Mersin, Cyprus, Lecce, Bologna, and Sicily. We threw seeds from the air (with parachute communities of universities) and from the land. The results are as follows:

With the help of over 2,000 children and young people and over 3,000 adults; more than 100,000 seed balls were made and scattered according to the data. If 10% of these seed balls survive, it means 10.000 trees, and also many bushes and plants will survive… This is a big step towards greening the world and increasing biodiversity.

A municipality from Turkey was officially invited to The International Seed Balls Festival held on the island of Sicily, and these two municipalities had meetings and conducted afforestation studies. Thus, international insernational seedings took place and good relations were established. 10 different municipalities, as well as NGOs, 3 universities and many foundations, associations, organizations and legal entities, participated in this festival. This festival was even featured in the Italian press. (I shared the news last week)

In one agriculture faculty, natural farming was applied and the production started with seed balls. In another, we are going to start in the spring. In my opinion, this is a revolution.

A faculty that always advises which chemicals and agricultural tools to use in agriculture, is open to natural farming, for me, is an indicator that the world is ready for such change.

With the natural farming seminars we organized in many different places, lots of farms started/decided to start natural farming practices. I will share these when the concrete steps are taken. And we are working with some farms from Turkey, which have started to produce with natural farming. If everything goes right, the first production will be announced soon.

In Tunceli, we are selecting pilot areas together with a municipality, cooperatives, and farmers. In spring, we are starting the first seeding and natural farming production. It will be directly produced by farmers and will be sold through the cooperative.

We will continue to sow seeds until the soil wakes up. Then there will be no need to even sow seeds.
